Made by fire people.

RediFlame is the Appalachian fire brand: biomass improved in a lab. We make smarter products that do more than burn.

It started with a question.

RediFlame has deep roots, going back to about 2001 in the upper Midwest. The early work was after one thing: a simple, natural way to enjoy a fire.

Skeeterlog came out of a graduate school question: how do you bring together the plant oils people have known about for generations into one formula?

Then we came home to Appalachia.

A few years ago, Tree of the Field brought RediFlame and Skeeterlog to Kentucky. Our goals were so alike. Kentucky made sense: more forest, a warmer climate, and wood fiber produced right here as a by-product of the wood industry.

Every Skeeterlog sold anywhere in the world is made in Kentucky.

At RediFlame, we have deep roots and high standards. Appalachia has been called a pharmatopia because of our lush forests and diverse plant life. This is the place from which we work with the tools and science and technology to produce highly effective, natural, annually renewable solutions to existing human needs.

Dollars for a gram, not a penny for a pound.

Tree of the Field is our parent company, and it is a think tank. Research and development is our passion, and our question is always the same: we've never done it that way, but why couldn't we?

For too long, wood fiber has been treated as a penny for a pound. That is wrong thinking. Good fiber, in the right hands, should do more than burn.

Our wood fiber is reclaimed from the wood industry, and our Fiber Flame fuel is a crop grown in a field in one season. No tree is cut to make a RediFlame product.

A big smile holding a shovel.

Floods, storms and hard years have tested us. Our people are the most resilient people you will meet, and you can see them with a big smile holding a shovel, digging out again and getting back to work.

Too often, Appalachia has served as a resource colony, its treasures shipped out and the value added somewhere else. We would like to see that change. We make things in Kentucky so the value of Appalachia's own resources stays with Appalachian people.

Our word, in four lines.

  • Everyone wins, or no one does. Good products, good jobs, fair wages.
  • Research first. Well-documented research and demonstrated ways.
  • Say what we mean. Do what you say, say what you do.
  • The people matter most. From the drivers to the people packing the boxes to the lab.

What it's built on.

Faith is the foundation of everything we do. We don't preach it. We try to live it, in how we do business and how we treat the people we work with.

Come see what we make.
